English as a Second Language teacher

 

Elizabeth Lindgren-Young graduated from the University of Minnesota and San Jose State University, holding B.A. and M.A. degrees in English, as well as a California Community College certificates for teaching learning handicapped, ESL, and basic skills students. Now retired, she taught for over 35 years in the California Community College system at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, the College of Alameda, and Skyline College in San Bruno.

In her retirement, she started taking Spanish classes from Maria Oliveira and now is also teaching in Maria's Language Center's English instructional program.

 

 

English Accent Reduction Instructor

 

Linda Barrett studied at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, and has a BA and MA in English from Holy Names University in Oakland, CA.

She taught in the Camden, NJ, school district, and was an adjunct instructor at Holy Names University. She has worked with ESL students in literacy programs.

She is currently a writer and free-lance editor who enjoys meeting and helping the very motivated English learners at Maria’s Language Learning Center.
